Groton Man Seriously Injured In Ledyard Motorcycle Crash

Andy Carpenter, 31, of Groton was seriously injured this morning in Ledyard when he crashed his motorcycle into a tree.

A Groton man was seriously injured in a motorcycle crash early this morning in Ledyard when he lost control of his motorcycle and crashed into a tree.

Just before 1:56 a.m., 31-year-old Andy Carpenter of 82 Marsh Road, Groton lost control of his motorcycle while traveling on Rt. 117 in Ledyard and crashed into a tree, according to a press release from the Ledyard Police Department. Emergency crews responded and Carpenter was rushed to Hartford Hospital via LifeStar helicopter.

Carpenter remains at Hartford Hospital after suffering serious injuries, according to police. The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
