Head-On Crash in Gales Ferry Sends Three to Hospital

Ledyard Police are still investigating the cause of a head-on collision on Route 12 near Anderson Drive around 3:30 Friday morning.

 

Three people were sent to the hospital after one vehicle crossed the middle lane and crashed into another on Route 12 early Friday morning.

Around 3:30 a.m., Alexandria Springer, 26, of Concord Court in Groton was driving her 1991 Acura south on Route 12 with passenger, Olga Revis, 21, of 48 Kings Highway in Gales Ferry when they were hit by a 2003 Jeep Wrangler driven by Nathaniel Rosseel, 24, Submarine Base in Groton.

Due to the heavy damage to the Acura, Springer had to be extricated from her vehicle prior to being transported to William W. Backus Hospital in Norwich with multiple injuries. Rosseel was also transported to Backus Hospital; Revis was transported to L+M Hospital in New London.

Gales Ferry Fire Company, Ledyard Fire Department, Ledyard Volunteer Emergency Squad, Submarine Base Fire Department Ambulance, American Ambulance, Lawrence + Memorial Hospital Paramedic, and Ledyard Police Department responded.

The Ledyard Police Department Accident Reconstruction Team continues to investigate the cause of this accident. Anyone who may have witnessed, or has information related to the accident, is asked to contact Officer Eric Bushor at 860-464-6400. An anonymous tip can be left at the same number.
