Ledyard Arrests April 5 – April 12

The following arrest information was supplied by the Connecticut State Police Troop E and the Ledyard police department. It does not indicate a conviction.

 

April 5
At 2:13 a.m. police arrested Tashi Wongdi, 44, of 3026 3rd Avenue in New York, NY, and charged him with first-degree trespassing, criminal impersonation, breach of peace-threatening, and threatening. Wongdi was arrested at Rainmaker Square at Foxwoods Casino subsequent investigation by Foxwoods Security Command. Wongdi was held on a $1,000 cash bond and given an April 5 court date.

At 9:25 p.m. police arrested Jeremy Traxler, 21, of 3 Hickory Drive in Ledyard, and charged him with operating under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol. Traxler was given a April 9 court date.

April 6
At 8:04 a.m. police arrested Thomas Sawyer, 46, of 107 Crest Drive in Mystic, and arrested him on an outstanding warrant for making home improvements without a valid certificate. Sawyer was arrested at Chriswood Terrace in Ledyard. He was assessed a $2,500 non-surety bond and given an April 19 court date.

April 8
At 12:18 a.m. police arrested Thomas C. Alwill, 33, of 205 S. Burnham Hwy in Lisbon, and arrested him for operating under suspension, failure to carry minimum insurance and operating an unregistered motor vehicle after a traffic stop on Route 2 in Ledyard. Alwill was released on a promise to appear and was given a April 23 court date.

April 9
Police arrested Adam Cochrane, 18, of 68 Meetinghouse Lane, after he turned himself in on an arrest warrant. Cochrane was charged with fourth-degree larceny due to a burglary complaint from Jan. 30, according to the police report. Cochrane was released with promise to appear and given an April 24 court date.

April 10
At 9:06 p.m. police arrested Alison Melbourne, 42, of 29 North Main Street in Bradford, Rhode Island, after she evaded the scene of an accident on Route 2 near the North Stonington and Ledyard border. Melbourne's car was traveling west bound when it crossed the yellow line and side-swiped a car driven by Debbie Rao, 20, of 20 Juniper Avenue in Westerly. Melbourne evaded the scene but was later found at the Dunkin Donuts on Route 2 in Preston where she was arrested and charged with driving a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs and evading the scene of an accident.

April 11
At 1:30 a.m. police arrested Ian J. Bredewig, 18, of 14 Lake Street, after his "vehicle was observed failing to maintain its lane," according to the report. He was charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol, operating a motor vehicle while under suspension and failure to drive right. Bredewig was assessed a $500 non-surety bond and given an April 26 court date.
