Ledyard Arrests May 17 – 24

The following arrest information was supplied by the Connecticut State Police Troop E and the Ledyard police department. It does not indicate a conviction

 

May 17

At 10:50 p.m. Steven DeLuca, 52, of 35 Highland Drive, was observed driving erratically on a residential street. Police officers determined DeLuca was driving under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol and DeLuca was arrested. He was charged with driving under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol, and creating a public disturbance. He was assessed a $500 non-surety bond and given and May 31 court date.

May 18

At 1:24 a.m.  police responded to a disturbance reported by staff at Two Trees Inn. After investigation, police arrested Kevin Patrick O’Brien, 22, of 22 Caratina Avenue in Pittsfield, Mass., and charged him with breach of peace; threatening. The report says O’Brien walked into one of the hotel’s room and threw a case of water at a member of the cleaning staff. That person followed the accused out of the room and the accused then tried to throw a punch. Then the complainant grabbed the accused arm and they both went to the floor and the two people were separated by Two Trees Security. O’Brien was assessed a $250 bond and given a May 31 court date.

At 9:51 p.m. police arrested Eric Brower, 35, no address given, after a motor vehicle stop resulted in seizure of suspected marijuana.

May 19

At 7:06 p.m. Bret Chernik, 41, of 72 Tyler Lane in Suffield was exiting his 2008 GMC Yukon the he parked in the Grand Pequot parking garage when a Foxwoods vehicle, registered to the Environmental Services Division, rolled into his car. Chernik fell over as a result of the impact and was transported to Backus Hospital after he sustained injuries to his arm and head. Investigation concluded that the Foxwoods van had a mechanical defect in the shift column and the vehicle’s transmission was not in “park”. The ESD was issued a misdemeanor summons for reckless driving and release with a promise to appear on June 6. The investigation was initially handled by the Mashantucket Police Department and then transferred to the Connecticut State Police Troop E.

May 24

At 11:00 a.m. police arrested Traci A. Algiere, 40, of 45 Lafayette Street in Norwich, and charged her with larceny sixth. The report says “the accused was arrested based on an active arrest warrant for an incident which occurred in Ledyard in early May 2012. Starr Wood Market is listed as the victim.
