At 9:11 a.m. police responded to a report of an physical altercation at the Child Development Center at 27 Ephraims Point, Mashantucket. Two women fought in the presence of children, one of which was forced into a nearby desk, causing a blow to the head, according to the report. Police arrested Alexis Rebecca Melendez, 20, of 18 Church Street in Noank and Gabrielle Torres Valladares, 21, of 5 Jessica Lane in Mashantucket, and charged them both with risk of injury to a child and breach of peace: fight/capable of causing minor injuries. Both women were assessed a $1,000 bond and given a July 5 court date.
At 11:06 police arrested Morningstar A. Arroyo, 27, of 7 Jessica Lane and Deacan W. Dahlquist, 27, of 10 Rosemary Street in New London after an incident on Ephraims Path in Ledyard. Arroyo was charged with interfering with an officer: non assaultive and disorderly conduct. He was assessed a $1,500 cash bond and given a June 19 court date.
Dahlquist was charged with interfering with an officer: non-assaultive, second-degree harassment: intimidation and threatening. He was assessed a $2,500 cash bond and given a June 19 court date.
June 21
At 7:04 police arrested Nienhsi Hsu, 61, of 17 Orchard Lane in New London, and charged him with interfering with an officer: simple assault and disorderly conduct. Hsu caused a disturbance on a tour bus leaving Foxwoods Casino according to the report. The bus returned to the casino and Hsu refused to get off the bus and had to be physically removed.
At 9:18 p.m. police stopped Igor R. Pontes, 27, of 73 Christy Hill Road, for a motor vehicle violation and subsequent investigation revealed an active warrant. Pontes was arrested and charged with first and second-degree failure to appear.
June 22
At 8:58 a.m. police arrested Robert T. Coates, 24, of 205 Avery Hill Road, and charged him with second-degree failure to appear. Coates was assessed a $10,000 non-surety bond and given a June 25 court date.
