Ledyard Cop Fired, Will Fight For Job

Upon learning of his termination, Ledyard police officer Jim Grzesiak vows to prove his innocence.

Jim Grzesiak, a former Ledyard police officer, spoke to The Day paper Monday after learning that he has been fired from the police department.

He vowed to reporters at that paper that he will get his job back.

A police officer in Ledyard for 19 years, Grzesiak has a history of disciplinary issues prior to his most recent arrests in October and January, according to the article, which explains some the proceedings that have taken place recently.

Grzesiak told The Day reporters that “the (termination) letter stated several reasons for his firing, including conduct unbecoming an officer, uncivil conduct, engaging in domestic violence, that he was unable to carry his service weapon and that he was not forthcoming with state police on how many firearms were in the home when police responded to the domestic incident.”

Grzesiak said he feels the town acted before he had a chance to prove his innocence.
