Ledyard Police Logs, May 14-31

The following arrests were recorded at Connecticut State Police Troop E. An arrest does not constitute a conviction and all are innocent until proven guilty.  

May 14

Hongri Piao, 46, of 144-25 Roosevelt Ave. in Flushing, N.Y., simple trespass, $92. According to the Connecticut State Police Eastern District Casino Licensing and Operations Unit, Foxwoods security found Piao in the Rain Maker Casino and recognized him as a patron who had previously been ejected.

May 15

James Clack, 27, of 50 Sigwin Circle in Wallingford, simple trespass, $92. According to the Connecticut State Police Eastern District Casino Licensing and Operations Unit, Foxwoods security contacted the Connecticut State Police about a previously ejected patron.

Arthur Willis, 21, of 98 Stanwood Street in Dorchester, Mass., breach of peace, $250 bond. According to the Connecticut State Police Eastern District Casino Licensing and Operations Unit, Willis was involved in a domestic dispute with his girlfriend while at the Foxwoods Resort and Casino.

May 16

Jane Calo, 50, of 229 Garden Hills Drive in Cranston, R.I., sixth-degree larceny, $250 bond. According to the Connecticut State Police Eastern District Casino Licensing and Operations Unit, the Mashantucket Tribal Police said Calo was apprehended after stealing a $50 pocketbook from the Rain Garden Store.

May 19

Huang Genhe, 49, of 136 Bowery in New York, N.Y., simple trespass, $92 bond. According to the Connecticut State Police Eastern District Casino Licensing and Operations Unit said Foxwood security saw Genhe near the bingo hall and recognized him as a previously ejected patron.

May 20

You H. Yang, 49, of 904 Main Street in Pawtucket, R.I., simple trespass, $92 bond. According to the Connecticut State Police Eastern District Casino Licensing and Operations Unit, Yang returned to Foxwoods Resort and Casino following a permanent ejection.

Jeff Zephirin, 28, of Queens, N.Y., simple trespass, $92 bond. According to the Connecticut State Police Eastern District Casino Licensing and Operations Unit, Foxwoods security recognized Zephirin as a patron who had previously been ejected from the casino and had re-entered the premises after he was issued a complaint ticket for simple trespass.

May 22

Se Yeon Kim, 48, of 15547 Sanford Ave. in Flushing, N.Y., simple trespass, $92 bond. According to the Connecticut State Police Eastern District Casino Licensing and Operations Unit, Kim returned to Foxwoods Resort Casino following a permanent ejection.

May 23

Mariah L. Smith, 24, of 800 Long Cove Road in Gales Ferry, third-degree burglary, third-degree assault, fourth-degree criminal mischief, risk of injury to a child. According to the Connecticut State Police, Smith was arrested at 123 Polly’s Lane in Montville after breaking a window to gain entry to a house and assaulted her ex-boyfriend in front of their four-year-old child.

May 24

Han Chen, 64, of Flushing, N.Y., simple trespass, $92. According to the Connecticut State Police Eastern District Casino Licensing and Operations Unit, Foxwoods security recognized Chen in the Rain Maker Casino as a previously ejected patron.

May 27

Nicole Donofrio, 29, and Michael Maniscalchi, 26, both of 159 Pinney Street in Ellington, breach of peace, $500 bond. According to the Connecticut State Police Eastern District Casino Licensing and Operations Unit, the two were involved in a physical confrontation at the Cedars catwalk along with a 16-year-old girl and a 17-year-old girl. Everyone accused other people of being the aggressor, and all four were arrested.

May 29

John A. Arsenian, 62, of 21 Kessler Farm Drive in Nashua, N.H., second-degree breach of peace, $500 bond. According to the Connecticut State Police Eastern District Casino Licensing and Operations Unit, Arsenian became loud and belligerent toward a woman at the Halo Bar in the  Grand Pequot Casino and continued to be disruptive after he was approached by Foxwoods security and Tribal Police.

Accidents

At about 2:10 p.m. on May 17, a 2012 Hyundai Sonata driven by 57-year-old Franklyn C. Perry of Uncasville rear-ended a 2011 Honda Odyssey driven by 29-year-old Bryanna Andrews of Griswold, who had stopped while traveling north on Route 12 in Gales Ferry. Perry was issued a written warning for following too close.

At about 3:11 p.m. on May 17, a 2007 Buick Lucerne driven by 66-year-old Sharon Parrett of Oakdale was making a right hand turn at the intersection of Foxwoods Blvd. and MGM Grand when she collided with a 2013 Dodge Avenger driven by 33-year-old April Bynum of Middletown. Bynum was in the second right hand turn lane.

At about 10:19 p.m. on May 17, an unidentified vehicle sideswiped a parked 2007 Ford Explorer at the MGM Grand parking garage and left the scene.

At about 8:15 a.m. on May 31, a 2008 Chevrolet Tahoe driven by 34-year-old Kenneth Carrion of Groton struck 55-year-old bicyclist Thomas Leise of Lisbon as Carrion was turning into the Dunkin Donuts on Route 12. Leise was hospitalized with serious injuries.

At about 12:50 p.m. on May 31, a 2006 Volvo XC90 driven by 39-year-old Chenoa K. Hosko of Preston rear-ended a 2013 Ford Fusion driven by 23-year-old Brittenie Stiles as she was stopped for traffic while traveling north on Route 12. Hosko said she was distracted when some apple juice in the car fell over and was unable to stop in time. She was given a written warning for following too close.
