UPDATE: Rt. 32 Rollover Sends Two to the Hospital

Accident sends two to the hospital, with one being transported via LIFESTAR helicopter.

Two people were transported to the hospital today, including one via LIFESTAR helicopter, after a van drove off of Rt. 32 near the Montville line and rolled over, according to Waterford Police Lt. Jeff Nixon.

Early this afternoon, a van driving north on Rt. 32 drove off the side of the road, scrapped along the right side of a parked car, went into the woods and rolled down an embankment, according to Nixon. The driver was transported by ambulance to Lawrence + Memorial Hospital, and the passenger was transported to another hospital by the LIFESTAR emergency helicopter service, according to Nixon.

The accident temporarily closed Rt. 32. Nixon said he had not yet identified the people in the accident and did not comment on the extent of the injures.

The Waterford Police Department’s Accident Investigation Team was processing the scene as of 1:30 p.m. At that time, the van was still in the woods, sitting on its roof just past the Cumberland Farms gas station in Quaker Hill.

Wow, looks like the exact same van that slammed my friend in front of Home Depot last week.
