One Man Extradited for Ledyard Crimes, More Arrests Expected

Ledyard Police drove to Pennsylvania to retrieve suspect of alleged crimes in 2012.

Officers from the Ledyard Police Department traveled to Allentown, Penn. Wednesday to retrieve an individual suspected to be involved in an October 19, 2012 armed robbery that occurred off Indiantown Road, according to a press release.

David B. Dixon Jr., 23, of no certain address, was taken into custody by the Lehigh County Pennsylvania Sheriff's Department and, after waiving extradition, Ledyard police officers drove to Allentown, Penn. and transported him back to Connecticut.

In connection with the Ledyard crime, Dixon was charged with robbery first degree (3 counts), use of a firearm in a felony, criminal possession of a firearm, strangulation second degree, threatening second degree, larceny third degree.

Investigation into this crime continues and additional arrests are expected.

In addition to the Ledyard charges, Dixon was charged with failure to appear in court first degree, and failure to appear in court second degree (3 counts) for warrants held by the City of Groton Police Department, Waterford Police Department, Norwich Police Department, and Connecticut State Police Casino Unit.

Dixon was given a May 2 court date.
