Police Blotter: Deer Causes Gallup Hill Road Crash
Lisbon Man Charged with Evading Responsibility After Two Crashes in One Night
On Feb. 9, at 3:11 a.m., police said Matthew Sharp, or 38 Dogwood Drive, Lisbon, was involved in an accident while exiting the parking garage at MGM Grand Casino. Police say he left the scene of that accident and was involved in a second accident on Route 2 in Norwich. No injuries were reported in either mishap. Sharp was taken into custody by Norwich Police and charged with evading responsibility. He was released on a promise to appear in court.
On Feb. 7, at around 10:30 p.m., Timothy Ahern, of 59 Woody Hill Road, Hope Valley, R.I., was traveling westbound on Gallup Hill Road when a deer ran out in front of his car. Ahern swerved to the left to avoid hitting the deer and went off the roadway, where his car struck a dirt embankment. Ahern was not injured. His car was towed to Floyd's Garage.
