On Feb. 9, Ledyard police stopped a vehicle on Route 12 near Chapman Lane because of a faulty headlight. The operator, Thomas J. Stoddard, 21, of 80 Darry Hill Road, Uncasville, was subsequently charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs. He was also cited for a head lamp violation. He was released on a $1,000 non-surety bond and ordered to appear in New London Superior Court on Feb. 22.
