Police Say Two of the Drivers Were Exceeding the Speed Limit

On April 14, at 9:43 p.m., police stopped a vehicle on Norman Drive in Gales Ferry driven by Kristine S. Sheridan, 50, of 1 Nutmeg Drive, Gales Ferry. She was charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs, failure to drive right and driving with an expired license. Her bond was set at $500 and she was given a court date of April 28 in New London.

On April 9, at 1:33 a.m., police observed A. Vidas Joshua, 30, of 1 Sleepy Hollow Pentway, operating at a high rate of speed on Long Cove Road near Military Highway. Joshua was charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs. He also was cited for having a real tail light out. His bond was set at $500, and his court date is April 19.

Also on April 9, at 3:30 a.m., John F. Klekonca, 30, of 5 Devonshire Drive, Gales Ferry, was stopped on Clark Lane and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs, and failure to drive right. His bond was set at $500 and he was given an April 19 court date.

On April 8, police observed Walter E. Swepson Jr., traveling north on Route 12 near Chapman Lane. Police said Swepson was driving 60 mph in a 35 mph zone. He was charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs and speeding. His bond was set at $500 and his court date is April 19.
