Police Blotter: Physical Altercation Leads to Arrest

Drivers charged with DUI, Possession of Marijuana

On April 20, at 12:49 p.m., Ledyard police responded to a report of a physical altercation at 303 Whalehead Road, Gales Ferry. Nico J. Green, 18, of same address, was charged with third-degree assault, breach of peace and threatening. Police also charged a juvenile at the scene with third-degree assault and breach of peace. Green's bond was set at $1,000, and he was ordered to appear in court on April 21. The minor's bond was set at $500 with an April 21 court date.

On April 19 at 9:31 p.m., police stopped a car on Shewville Road that was driven by Aaron Walkinshaw, 24, or 50 Lakeside Drive. Walkinshaw was charged with possession of less than 4 ounces of marijuana and failure to drive right. His bond was set at $500 and he was given a court date of May 3.

On April 16, 3:30 a.m., Ledyard police stopped a car on Route 12 driven by Robert C. Barnes, 20, of 43 Affeldt Drive, Groton. Police said Barnes' car was observed going over the yellow line. He was charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs and failure to drive right. His bond was set at $500 with a court date of April 27.
