Police Blotter: Second-Degree Criminal Mischief, DUI

Arrests through March 16

 

The following arrests were recorded at the Connecticut State Police Troop E in Montville. An arrest does not constitute a conviction and all are innocent until proven guilty.

Feb. 27

At 11:55 a.m., Mashantucket Tribal Police arrested Jennielee J. Sebastian-Ward, 38, of 7 Ephrams Path, Mashantucket, and charged her with failure to appear, on several outstanding warrants. Custody was transferred to the Conneticut State Police, and she was held on a cumulative $60,000 cash-only bond, and presented before a judge on Feb. 28 in New London.

March 1

At 7:05 a.m., police responded to a one-vehicle accident on Route 2 in Ledyard. A vehicle driven by Brianne L. Kroeger, 30, of 72 Wolf Den Road, Brooklyn, CT, was entering the Route 214 on-ramp when Kroeger lost control on the wet road and ended up in a ditch. The front end of the vehicle was damaged, and Kroeger was taken to Backus Hospital for an evaluation after she complained of leg pain.

March 7

At 1 a.m., Ledyard Police investigated a one-car accident on Whalehead Road, in which the driver of the car fled. The 1998 Chrysler is owned by Stephen Bardfield, 9 Kennedy Drive, Ledyard. According to the report, the car was driving south on Whalehead, when it collided with a stone wall on the south side of the road, then slid across the wall and hit another stone wall on the north side of the road. The driver of the car fled, the report says. The investigation is ongoing. 

March 13

Ledyard police responded to a call from a resident at 18 Sleepy Hollow Road who said there was a car parked and idling in the driveway. Upon arrival the officer found that the operator was hunched over the steering wheel and asleep, according to the police report. The officer opened the door and a "strong odor of alcohol emitted."

John Sidlinger, 30, of 8 Greenbriar Court in Mystic, was arrested and charged with operation of a motor vehicle while under the influce of drugs and/or alcohol, or while having an elevated blood alcohol content. Sidlinger was assessed a $500 non-surety bond and given an April 3 court date.

At 8:00 p.m. Ledyard police arrested "two 18 year old females and a youthful offender for damaging two motor vehicles in Ledyard on 3-12-2012," according to the police report.

Emily Patterson, 18 of South Glennwoods Drive and Colleen Rusk, 18, of Kennedy Drive and the seventeen-year-old were arrested and charged with second-degree criminal mischief after vandalizing vehicles belonging to Melissa Gencarellii of Westerly, Rhode Island and Caitlin Pemberton, of Ledyard.

All were released with promise to appear. The seventeen-year-old was given a March 28 court date, Patterson and Rusk were given a March 27 court date.
