Police Investigating Stabbing on Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Land

Three people were treated at Backus for non-threatening stab wounds.

 

State police responded to a “large disturbance” early this morning on the Mashantucket Pequot reservation after which three people were treated for stab wounds.

The state police report says there was a “large gathering of approximately 100 people and became involved in an unruly disturbance and altercation…an unknown subject brandished a knife and three subjects were stabbed.”

The Day is reporting that tribal police later in the day said the number of people at the gathering was closer to 30.

Three people were transported to William W. Backus Hospital in Norwich for non-life threatening wounds. Mashantucket Tribal Police and Connecticut State Police are still investigating.
