Search Continues For Third Suspect In Home Invasion

Two men charged Friday after break-in at home on Marla Avenue; residents were threatened with a gun, police say

Two men were charged Friday in connection with a home invasion that morning at 13 Marla Ave. in the Barrett Park neighborhood. A third suspect is still being sought.

According to Ledyard police, Vincent Sebastian III, DOB: 10/11/91, of 60 Coachman Pike, Ledyard, was charged with Home Invasion , Burglary 1st, Criminal Use of Firearm and Criminal Attempt/Robbery 1st Degree.

Louis Seignious, DOB: 1/7/89, 65 Sunny Hill, Montville, was charged with Home Invasion , Burglary 1st , Criminal Use of Firearm , Criminal Attempt/Robbery 1st Degree.

Both are held on bond pending their arraignment at GA 10 on Monday.

The crime occurred around 9 a.m., Friday at the home of David Doucette. In a statement released earlier today, police said three men entered the residence through the basement. One of the men had a “small silver handgun.”

The armed man “proceeded to point the gun at one of the occupants of the residence while attempting to rob the occupants. The black males proceeded to hold the occupants at gunpoint while locking doors in the residence to prevent escape and searching for items to steal.”

Police said after a few minutes the men left through the basement. Neighbors who spoke to the family after the ordeal reported that the assailants fled after they realized they had entered the wrong house.

There were no reported injuries.

Detectives and Officers from the Ledyard Police Department, Detectives and Troopers from the Connecticut State Police, as well as Officers from the Montville Police, Norwich Police and agents with the FBI New London, began searching the surrounding towns for the suspects.

The two suspects who were charged were located at 16 Franklin St. Apt. 306 in Norwich, police said.

The incident is still under investigation with assistance by the office of New London County State’s Attorney. Anyone with information leading to the identity of the third suspect is requested to contact State Police in Montville 860-848-6500 or Ledyard Police Department 860-464-6400.
