Two Injured In Rose Hill Road Car Crash

Out of town passengers were transported to W. W. Backus Hospital, Montville driver was not injured.

 

Two were injured in an early morning car crash Sunday on Rose Hill Road. Emergency crews responded to a report of a vehicle crash at about 1:38 a.m. and found a car off the road and in the woods.

The passengers, Cory Hutzler, 27, of 2 Highland Street in Taftville and Jarrod Fletcher, 28, of 683 Middlebridge Road in South Kingstown, Rhode Island sustained significant injuries and required extrication from the vehicle. They were transported by ambulance to the William W. Backus Hospital in Norwich.

Lifestar was requested but was unable to fly due to weather.

The driver, Toni Murallo, 51, of 9 Crandell Hill Road in Montville was uninjured as a result of the crash.

The Ledyard Police Department, Ledyard Fire Department, Ledyard Volunteer Emergency Squad, Gales Ferry Fire Department, Preston and Poquetanuck Fire Departments, American Ambulance Paramedic, and Lawrence & Memorial Hospital Paramedics responded.

The cause of this crash remains under investigation by the Ledyard Police Department Accident Reconstruction Team.
