Two Ledyard Residents Hospitalized After Roll Over on Route 117

Route 117 will remain closed for another hour.

 

Two people were transported to L+M Hospital today after the car they were riding in was involved in a rollover accident on Route 117 near the Groton town line according to a press release.

Driver David E. Doucette, 64, of 13 Marla Avenue, was transported to L + M Hospital for injuries. Passenger Betty J. Doucette, 63, of the same address, was transported to L + M Hospital for serious injuries.

Also as a result of this accident, a CL&P support pole and fire hydrant were damaged. This accident remains under investigation by the Ledyard Police Department Accident Reconstruction Team, according to the release.

The call came in around 2:25 p.m. The Ledyard Police Department, Ledyard Fire Department, Center Groton Fire Department, Ledyard Volunteer Emergency Squad, and Lawrence & Memorial Hospital Paramedics responded.
