Town asks Ledyard residents to help dig out that fire hydrant nearby in the next big storm.
Although most fire hydrants are dug out by now, new snow is expected this weekend and who knows what will happen next week, so town officials are asking residents to dig out the fire hydrants near their house in the next big storm.
“If residents keep their fire hydrants dug out, it’ll save 10-15 minutes in a fire and could make a world of difference,” said Town Councilor Bill Saums.

Groton Utilities services and maintains fire hydrants in Ledyard. They have provided a list of hydrant addresses and a map.
