The Ledyard Republican Town Committee has endorsed Andrew Lavery for State Representative for the 40th State House District, according to a press release from Lavery's office.
The 40th Assembly District includes parts of Ledyard and Groton and is currently represented by Ted Moukawasher. Lavery is a Groton resident.
Lavery said he was "humbled and honored to receive the endorsement and would like to thank everyone in both Ledyard and Groton for the support he has received."
“I have been hard at work on this campaign knocking on doors, appearing at events and holding fundraisers," he wrote. "Over the next few months I hope to meet everyone in the 40th district and answer any questions and address any concerns.”
Kevin Dombrowski, chairman of the Ledyard RTC was quoted in the press release as saying, "Andrew is one of the most enthusiastic and energetic candidates I have seen, and I believe is the best choice to represent the 40th district."
