Malloy to Open EOC For Hurricane Sandy Coordinations

The State Armory will serve as the state's emergency operations center.

 

Governor Dannel P. Malloy will partially activate the state’s Emergency Operations Center (EOC) on Saturday at 8 a.m. to coordinate the state’s response in advance of Hurricane Sandy.  Based on the current forecast, it is anticipated that the EOC will go ito full activation on Sunday at 8 a.m.

In addition, the state has launched a website dedicated to keeping state residents up-to-date on all pertinent information on Hurricane Sandy.

“Now is the time to prepare,” Malloy said.  “Although the exact track of the storm is still uncertain, we are preparing for this storm to have a significant impact on the state and the public should do the same.”

At 1 p.m. on Saturday, Governor Malloy will hold a statewide conference call with municipal leaders, followed by a media briefing at 2 p.m. with updates on Hurricane Sandy and Connecticut’s preparedness and response.
