1. Why are you running for this office?

It is an opportunity and privilege to give back to a system of which I have been a consumer for the past eleven years with another eleven years to go.  I want to help cultivate a system that evolves, so that the next eleven years provide as much satisfaction as the first.

2. What do you believe is the greatest challenge Ledyard schools face today, and what would you do to meet this challenge?

The biggest challenge is keeping our schools current with respect to curriculum.  Supporting the teachers and administrators as they prepare for the Common Core State Standards is an immediate obligation we have to our children.  Pay me now or pay me later, one sure fire way to see your property values drop is to ignore your schools.  Another is to ignore business development, but that’s a story for another day.

3. How would you rate the performance of the current board overall, and what, if anything, would you do differently?

The current board is doing an excellent job.  I would not change it.  My goal is to add new perspectives and value to the decision making process.
