Town Council Chairman Appointed To Obama Administration

Sean Sullivan will resign as Ledyard Town Council Chairman later this month.

 

 

Sean Sullivan, Town Council chairman, said he will resign as town councilor and chairman sometime this month to accept a position in Washington D.C. as a member of the Obama administration.

U.S. Senate confirmed Sullivan as a member of the Defense Nuclear Facility Safety Board Thursday.

Sullivan said among many things, the board oversees safety at the Department of Energy sites that build and maintain nuclear weapons for the nation's arsenal. He said there are about ten in the nation and board members look at safety measures taken at the DOE sites and write reports and recommendations.

Sullivan said he will bring to bear .
