Case Named Athletic Director at St. Bernard

New AD has worked in Ledyard, coached at St. Bernard

Thomas Doherty, the new headmaster of St. Bernard School, has named Brendan Case as athletic director to replace Bill Buscetto.

Case has worked in the Ledyard public school system since 2007, according to a press release. He coached the boys' tennis team at St. Bernard's, and his team won the state doubles championship, and placed two players in college programs.

A graduate of Eastern Connecticut State University, Case holds a bachelor of science degree in sports and leisure management.

Doherty says that Case will oversee the athletic program for a one-year term, "and will bring passion, energy and a commitment to our student athletes."

Buscetto was fired in June by former Headmaster William McKenna, days before McKenna retired. Earlier this month, he said in a radio interview, he turned down the school's offer to reinstate him. The offier included a $16,000 pay cut and the relinquishing of his baseball coaching duties.
