Now a Ph.D candidate, Paul Elliot will represent UConn Engineering in Ireland.

Ledyard High School graduate and UConn doctoral candidate Paul Elliott has been competitively selected to represent UConn Engineering at the Universitas 21 Graduate Research Conference on Energy Systems, Policy and Solutions at University College Dublin, according to a press release.

Elliott is a Nuclear Regulatory Commission Research Fellow and his conference submission “argues that national energy policy should encourage the use of electric vehicles,” and that electric car fast chargers should be installed in current filling stations along the highways in order for electric cars to become a reality.

Energy – Systems, Policy and Solutions is the theme of the three-day conference that will take place in June. According to the release, “the conference will entail presentations, student competitions, activities and workshops, and site visits to energy companies.”
