Ledyard Students Earn Degrees from University of Rhode Island

At the University of Rhode Island's 127th Commencement on Saturday and Sunday, May 18-19, 2013, more than 3,200 undergraduate and 770 graduate students became the University's newest alumni.

The following residents were among the students who received their undergraduate or graduate degrees. Note that many students have received multiple degrees:

Kaitlyn A. Luke of Ledyard received a BS in Nursing

Laura A. Norman of Ledyard received a BS in Textiles Fashion Merchandising and Design cum laude*

Scott Christian Jensen of Gales Ferry received a MS in Ocean Engineering

The University of Rhode Island's pioneering research extends the University's influence well beyond its coastal borders, while its unique interdisciplinary courses provide its 16,680 undergraduate and graduate students with global opportunities in an intimate environment. The University now has about 110,000 alumni worldwide.

*Students who received the honor summa cum laude graduated with a cumulative grade point average (GPA ) of at least 3.7; students who received the honor of magna cum laude graduated with a GPA of at least 3.50; and students who received the honor of cum laude graduated with a GPA of at least 3.3.
