every one thinks.

We lose power once again.

Sandy was definitely here.

Boom!

Black!  Pitch black is all I can see.

It would be a long while

Before anyone got to sleep

I didn’t think that a quiet game

in a quiet room

would end up in flames like a mad

sun.

My surroundings were dark,

and it was unpleasant,

like a haunted house.

Blown Away

by Alyssa Bomster

The wind picked up

And the lights went out

Leaves are blowing

Trees are falling

Power lines are sparking

I sit in the flicker of the candle’s flame

My family seated around the table

We play games until our eyes can barley

stay open

Scary times, now happy

Family bonding <3

Good memories growing

And the bad

Blown away

Lights Out

by Sara Giorgi

The wind picks up.

Hurricane Sandy is here.

Boom

Flash

A tree falls on a power line.

Lights out.

All I could hear was rain.

All I could see was shutters flying.

Boooom

A tree falls right out front.

The house shakes.

Silence…

Storm over?
