The Community Foundation Awards Scholarships to Eight Ledyard Students

The Community Foundation awarded $372,450 to 209 regional students so far this year.

The Community Foundation of Eastern Connecticut will be helping eight Ledyard graduates pursue their academic goals, according to a press release sent to Patch.

The organization has given out $372,450 in scholarships this year to 209 eastern Connecticut high school and college students, the release said. Another $30,450 will be distributed to different scholarship groups for a total of $403,000 in donations for students, a 20 percent increase from the previous year.

The Ledyard recipients are:

  • Michaela Holland, Gales Ferry, David & Sherry Dresback Scholarship Fund
  • Rachael Miller, Gales Ferry, Patricia C. Norman Scholarship Fund
  • John Earl, Ledyard, Gunvor  Lund Scholarship Fund
  • Ashley Giordano, Ledyard, Patricia C. Norman Scholarship Fund
  • Gregory Knight, Ledyard, Beatrice McEwen Scholarship Fund
  • Cara LoBianco, Ledyard, Beatrice McEwen Scholarship Fund
  • Kaitlin Pealer, Ledyard, David & Sherry Dresback Scholarship Fund
