In Woodbury it is the stress of the property values decreasing and the ever increasing of taxes.Read More People can not afford their taxes now. This years shell game, the First Selectman and the BOF Chair want everyone to believe that only 40% of the taxpayers taxes are going up. 40% increase in stress in those people's lives. Hi everyone here. What Christine Coleman said is very true though i may not know her. I experiencedRead More it first hand also. It was this organization called consumer loan firm (C.L.f)that really helped me to pay my medical bills when i was in dare need of money because i am a widow. A friend of my also directed me to them. when i was about to do a major operation and i had no money at that time, they came to my rescue and in less than 48 hours, i got my loan. But to say the truth, i was nervous and scared at first because i have been scammed twice. But when i summoned up courage and follow their lending policies along with my friends advice, at the end i found myself smiling. If not for them, maybe i would have been dead by now. I have even taken another loan from them start my business after my recovery which i am also paying back now. My only advice now is that any body who is really in need of loan should contact them with their email via: consumerloanfirm@gmail.com and get a loan from them. Thanks

My experience is not anecdotal, that is usually a one time situation. My experience spans 25 years,Read More in different industries, and being part of hiring thousands of people at all different job levels. I am sure there are companies who have discriminated but they are few and far between. With all the women in HR positions all over this country, if this was news, it would have been made news long ago. Plus, people are litigious and companies are not going to risk that. In addition, since I have been privy to employee lawsuits, I never saw ONE that had to do with pay disparity with men. Sometimes they had to do with sexual harrassment, however the biggest number, according to statistics, is retaliation for being on leave, and that has nothing to do with gender.

And Lisa thank you for the tip. Please I don't mean to say we are starving. Looking around at otherRead More people in the same boat I guess you could say we are lucky (although hard work helped). I understand what you mean. But sometimes I feel as though the people we view as at theRead More "bottom" in some sense, are the ones who need the most help. I'm not even convinced that living here would be the best thing for them, particularly if they are entering a hostile environment. On a similar topic, the German half of my family fled a war torn country in 1950 and came to the U.S. Needless to say, Germans were not very well liked at that time. But of anyone, it was a Jewish man who gave my grandfather a job. He could easily have turned my grandfather away, but didn't. And for that, I am grateful. Different situation, of course. Aside from all of that, I agree the whole situation with immigration is a giant mess for everyone involved and hopefully gets somewhat resolved soon.

here you go I think all pro ILLEGAL immigration should pay for this: I am Carol Plato. I am fromRead More Martin County (Florida), and I am Director of Corporate Business Services for Martin Memorial Medical Center. I have a couple brief stories to tell you about. In 2001 we had a Guatemalan, an illegal patient, in our hospital. He was there from 2001 until 2003. He had over $1.5 million in healthcare services. We forcibly returned him to his home country of Guatemala at our own cost of $30,000. You ask why am I telling you about a case that happened in 2003? Because today that case is not over; we have spent and are spending up to a quarter of a million dollars in legal fees, because his family here in the United States is suing us because they think it was inappropriate for us, to return this illegal patient to his home country. Currently, as of today, I have a patient from Mexico who has been in my hospital for 760 days. He has severe brain damage; he has no family, no friends. His charges, to date, for almost 2 years is $1.5 million, and we have contacted the Mexican Consulate four times; we have contacted Immigration, and nobody will help us return this patient to Mexico. We are even willing to spend our own $30,000 to return this patient. We can’t get anyone to help us with that. In 2007 the Florida Hospital Association estimated that there was 100 million dollars in costs for illegal patient care. One of the major problems that healthcare institutions have today, that you need to be aware of, is ongoing care. If somebody comes into our emergency room, we don’t turn them away. But if somebody comes into our emergency room and they have renal failure, and they require dialysis — well, right now I have six patients (illegal, undocumented patients) that we are seeing every 3 days for renal dialysis. For all of this that I’ve talked to you about, we have received no reimbursement. This obviously affects all of us; our healthcare costs are severely affected by this.

Former Border Patrol agent warns what’s coming Posted: 20 Jul 2014 11:15 AM PDT By: JamesRead More Simpson DC Independent Examiner Zach Taylor The video interview posted here is worth watching in its entirety. Zach Taylor is a 27 year veteran Border Patrol agent with supervisory experience. He has testified before Congress as an expert witness on criminal activity in wilderness areas. His message is credible. He accuses the federal government in a coverup that is deliberately shielding critical information from the public. Taylor says that whoever is perpetrating the border crisis is engaged in a perfect asymmetrical military tactic. While the American people focus on “the children,” he points out that they are actually only a tiny proportion of the people crossing the border. That we are apprehending about 10 percent of the illegal border crossers, and that the other 90 percent are not children. Since only 10 – 15 percent of those apprehended are children, that means we are focused on about 1 percent of the problem. The adults that we are missing are bringing in weapons, personnel and supplies while our attention is diverted by the needs of the children. He says a very credible informer told him that that the most dangerous crime element in Mexico City is Russian Mafia. That means KGB. Few people know this, but the Soviets entered a secret pact with Mexico very early in the last century, almost certainly with the eventual aim of utilizing Mexico’s strategic position in offenses against the U.S. There is little doubt in my mind that the border crisis is an endgame strategy designed to bring in the people and weapons that will kill us. And Taylor asserts that Obama is in on the plan. The only way to defeat this border swamping strategy is for state governments to initiate independent action with assistance from American volunteers. The federal government is betraying our country and its representatives are betraying their oath to “support and defend” our Constitution and country “from all enemies foreign and domestic.” Time for governors to stand up, seal the border and begin deporting aliens on their own. We need to get aggressive here. Otherwise Obama and his fellow communists will steal our country from us while we watch. And we are likely setting ourselves up for a terrorist attack. As Dick Cheney has warned, another attack is coming which will be far deadlier than 9-11. Watch the video and support the “Back to the Border” film project.

First of all, this article is misleading. "The death of nine children already this year thatRead More have been placed with families involved with the Connecticut Department of Children and Families, the agency is promising to investigate the issue and make improvements to guard against future fatalities, the Associated Press reports". Not all of these children were in foster homes, as you read it, take a look at one of the examples talking about the father allegedly throwing his daughter in her bassinet. The baby was not in a foster home, but was living with her mother. DCF was more than likely involved with that family and trying to work with them. I cannot say how the other deaths occurred and where the children were but I suspect they were with their families where DCF is involved. Craig Zac, I don't understand your comment about "throwing a baby of kid in with a family who doesn't really want them or has no emotional bond with them". Are you referring to an infant or child being placed in foster care? If so, I will tell you that we DO WANT THEM and we DO BOND WITH THEM!! I take these kids in when they need someone to take care of them, feed them, cloth them, love them and help them feel safe! I do it out of the kindness of my heart!

Only a politician would try to convince everyone that paying taxes is patriotic. Why then do theRead More very wealthy(politicians and corporations included) hide their money in off shore accounts? The property taxes in this state are some of the highest in the country and do nothing but increases every year. They increase without any regard of the income or a families ability to pay. I wonder why p Just where has this gotten us? A state that is over taxed and where half the residents would move if they could. Is there anyone doing anything about the high cost of living here? Yes, its now being labeled as patriotic.

NO paying taxes is not patriotic and collecting taxes is almost criminal! We get nothing in returnRead More for our taxes... no, we don't get roads, we don't get government services like all those agencies for every little thing (who apparently now also seem to all be armed and have the authority to shoot you for not complying) we don't get protection (unless you call pissing people off THEN fighting them off when they get fed up and attack us, protection) we actually get very little for the amount of taxes we pay. If our taxes went to all the above and even those not mentioned we'd only be paying out a 1/4 of what we are forced to give each week... so no, paying is NOT patriotic, you cannot force patriotism... and collecting taxes is criminal. And I say forced to pay because if you don't you will end up in prison or dead by the feds, the very people and equipment that the tax money bought and paid for! Stick em up sucka, I come fo yo taxes biotch!
