Maybe the state needs to farm out another few million $$ for a media blitz, tv, cable, internet, radio, thousands of paper flyers and ads on the backs of busses, sides of taxi's and other to 'educate' the drivers as they text and blab their way along this road. oh heck, it's only MONEY! right?
(oh heck again, i just gave them another idea how to spend the taxpayer's 'donations', silly old me!)
The real safety issue here is 'JOB SECURITY" for all those state workers hanging about, looking like they are doing NOTHING to earn their MAGNIFICENT pensions. just keep them busy, since our money is no object! and dare we even attempt to object to these cosmetic coverups, the tax and spend politico's will punish us again by dreaming up another tax on something, anything, (you know, so we all feel like we're part of the 'big picture')

This project is absolutely wasteful! Ms. Smith's comment regarding a better use of the $9M is…Read More sensible. But, in these times of economic stress, why spend the $9M at all...unless there are critical highway safety issues that have already been identified and are not adequately funded. Frivolous Government spending at all level on such projects as this has reached epidemic levels.

Yet the Democrats in Hartford voted to give these Illegal Aliens state sanctioned rights for a state of Connecticut Driver's License.
Notice how the Democrats do not use the words "Illegal Aliens"
The New Liberal term is "Undocumented Citizens".
All state representatives who voted for this unpopular law will be held accountable at the next election.
I would like this reporter to investigate just how much money it will cost to give 54,000 Driver's licenses to Illegal Aliens.
Malloy and the Democrats early morning and secretive closed-door methods preparing these bills without letting the Chair of the Transportation Committee participate in the process.
With passing this law, how many more DMV staff will require to be hired? 15, 25, 50 more state workers?
This will cost Connecticut tax payers several million dollars.

Issuing these Connecticut driver's licenses is basically giving people who aren't here legally…Read More state-sanctioned permission to be on our roads and, therefore, in our country.
The Connecticut State House has already given illegals the right to reduced instate tuition at our colleges.
Democrats want to give licenses to illegal immigrants. That would reward law-breaking and would prompt more illegals to move to Connecticut without following proper immigration rules.
This is about photo I.D. Once illegals have photo I.D., they will be able to do hundreds of other things. Benefits should not be given to illegal immigrants.
The Democrats continue to make laws against the opinions of the MAJORITY of the citizens.
Any other Connecticut legal resident must show an I.D., an official Birth Certificate that shows origin of birth and pass the written and drivers test.
What the DMV should be doing is …, when they come in to get a license, the DMV calls INS authorities and they get investigated.

Liveforfreedom, not sure if you had the opportunity to make the meeting discussing the police…Read More station at the high school a few weeks back or not. One of the slides that was provided illustrated that the town has several bonds etc that are at the end of their terms and the amount of money on the books goes down greatly in the upcoming years considerably. I know the tax rate is high and I agree with you on that point but the police station is in terrible shape and a new station is needed. I'd like to thank those that came out in support of the new station.

Preliminary voting results show that the new Police Station was approved by only 39 votes in a town…Read More with a population of 11,000 people.
The 12,354- square-foot police station will add $479,937 per year to the town’s debt load between fiscal year 2016 and fiscal 2025 and boost the tax rate by a0.405 mills per year during that span according to the Norwich Bulletin.
My feeling is that after this new tax increase the new Middle school remodel proposal will be "dead in the water".

I'm sure another traffic light will be installed between Missouri and MLK, thus compounding the problem even more. I must admit, whoever the decision makers are in the Clearwater, they sure know how to waste taxpayer dollars.
We have numerous vacant parcels where the fire station could have been erected, however, they chose to purchase land on the busiest road in Pinellas county leading to and departing from Clearwater Beach.
