The Ledyard Police Animal Control Office investigates incidents involving domestic animals, and is charged with the careMore and well-being of all animals taken into its facility. Under the direction of animal control officer Kimlyn Marshall, the office exists to prevent cruelty, abuse and neglect of animals by enforcing all state, county and town ordinances. The office is committed to placing homeless animals in safe and loving homes, and works to educate the public on animal issues to foster a more knowledgeable and caring community.

The Ledyard Public Works Garage and Transfer Station is located on Colonel Ledyard Highway. The department'sMore director, Steve Masalin, has an office at Town Hall.</p> <p>The Public Works Department maintains the town's infrastructure and receives and transfers municipal and bulky wastes for residents and property owners. The department also works to help ensure public and environmental health and safety.</p> <p>The Animal Control Office is located there too. The shelter takes in animals who are lost or abandoned and will help people find their missing pets. The ACO is part of the police department so it addresses public health and safety concerns that could arise from sick animals.</p>
