Marik Update: 'This Kid Is A Beast'

Marik Tucker had his last chemotherapy treatment Tuesday. Send him a postcard to make him smile!

Marik Tucker, the 10-year-old boy who was diagnosed with cancer shortly after his Navy family moved to southeastern Connecticut in 2012, had his last chemotherapy treatment Tuesday. Here's what his mom Kelli had to say on the Miracles for Marik Facebook page:

289 days in the making. 23 hospital admissions. 2 surgeries. 49 clinic visits. Nearly 8000 pills. Over 100 shots. $1,129,000 dollars later. This kid is a beast. Stronger than most of the adults I know. He fought when the rest of us couldn't. The only word to describe how I'm feeling is proud! F you Cancer, you can't have my child!

To celebrate the completion of Marik's long and difficult journey, which included the amputation of his leg, Kelli has launched a project to have folks from around the world send Marik a postcard.

An article posted on Ledyard Patch on Friday has been shared on Facebook nearly 3,000 times. And good wishes are pouring in from around the globe, on Facebook and on Patch:

'Hi Marik! My name is Millie and I am a cancer survivor ..."

And this one, all the way from Dublin, Ireland.

You can post your own good wishes and great vibes to Marik as well.

If you want to send a postcard to Marik, please mail it to:

Miracles for Marik, P.O. Box 488, Gales Ferry, CT 06335.
