VIDEO: Matt Buriak and Lauren Candler Benefit Choral Concert

Thursday night's benefit concert was big success! The auditorium was full as hundreds of people showed up in support of the Ledyard High School Music Department and the two memorial scholarships toward which the proceeds will go.

Matt Buriak and Lauren Candler, two former Ledyard High School students, shared a deep love for singing in the music program at Ledyard High School and each year a scholarship is given in their name to a graduating senior who is invovled in the program and who shared the same love for singing as Matt and Lauren, wrote Music Department Chair Russell Hammond in a press release.

The concert featured five choirs and close to 300 students who performed a wide variety of choral music ranging from classical to folk to contemporary.
