Sacred Dance Workshop

Sacred Dance Guild Holds Annual Meeting
and

Offers August 3 Workshop in Gales Ferry

The Sacred Dance Guild (SDG),
an international organization dedicated to dance as a sacred art, will hold its
annual meeting in Gales Ferry on August 3, 2013 at the United Methodist Church, 10 Chapman Lane.

The daylong event includes a
luncheon and sacred dance workshop from 12 noon to 3:30 p.m. Both are open to
anyone interested in learning more about sacred dance and the SDG. Cost is
$35.00 for lunch and workshop or just $25.00 for workshop only.

Based on the SDG motto, the
workshop theme is “Dancing the Sacred, Moving the World.”

SDG workshops are open to
people of all ages, spiritualities, abilities, and levels of dance experience,
from professionals to those with no dance experience.

“All are invited to come and
explore how we use dance as a path for spiritual exploration, expression, and
growth, as well as for social outreach, justice, and peacemaking,” said Wendy
Morrell, president of the SDG.

Attendees will also have the
opportunity to meet other members of SDG, particularly local representatives
who will facilitate the workshop.

The workshop will include a
gentle warmup, along with exercises and movement experiences designed to
enhance spiritual inquiry, illuminate sacred concepts, and create a sense of
community among participants.   Attendees are advised to wear comfortable clothing
and footwear that permit ease of movement.

Space is limited and
pre-registration is advised.  For more
information, contact Marcia Miller at 860-464-2282 or treas@sacreddanceguild.org
