Town Clerk Resigns from "Best Job in Town"

Michael Curley's time in Town Hall was short but very productive.

Mayor John Rodolico regretfully announced the resignation of Town Clerk Mike Curly at Wednesday's Town Council meeting.

Curley took over what he calls "the best job in town" after Town Clerk Cal Brouwer retired in 2012. Curley said he that his time is cut short and that he's leaving the position to devote more time to family obligations.

"He has changed the atmosphere in the office," said Rodolico. "He's done an incredible job interfacing with the public."

Rodolico said Curley has innovated the Town Clerk's office and brought many processes online and has done tremendous job organizing and archiving town documents.

"I think the new Town Clerk will pick up and keep going," said Curley. "I'm really excited to see what comes next."

Preston's Assistant Town Clerk Patricia Riley will be taking Curley's place in June.
