'Stuff a Cruiser' Holiday Food Drive

Beginning Saturday, Police and Starrwood Market team up to help needy during holidays

The Ledyard Police Department, Ledyard Social Services Food Locker and Starrwood Market are teaming up to provide assistance to less fortunate Ledyard & Gales Ferry families during this holiday season.

On Saturday Nov. 12, from 10a.m. to 2 p.m., and Monday, Nov. 14, from 4p.m. to 7 p.m., the Ledyard Police Department will hold "Stuff a Cruiser" events in the Starrwood parking lot. On these two dates people are asked to bring non-perishable food items to stuff into a police cruiser to assist the Food Locker.

Customers of the Starrwood market Ledyard store may also purchase a $10 donation bag, which will go directly to the food locker.
