A haiku is three lines. The first is five syllables, the second is seven, the third is five. There are all sort of rules and subtleties, but 5-7-5 will do in a pinch.
Hurricane Haiku
A big storm's coming
Heading right for our front yard.
Sandy: Change your mind!
No sleep for Patch editors. La vida loca.
Water water everywhere. No work on Monday.
Major earthquake to the west Is anywhere safe?
Sandy is moving up north I will stay put here LOL miss you Carrie
