Daily Five: Groton Reservoir Walk And Tag Sale For Laurie Kammer

Five things to know on Thursday, May 31.

 

1. Today is forecast to be partly sunny, then gradually becoming sunny, with a high near 80, according to National Weather Service. Tonight is supposed to be mostly clear, with a low around 52.

2. Everyone’s welcome to hike the Groton Reservoir property Saturday at 10 AM. The walk is guided by Groton Utilities personnel for anyone interested. It starts at the Overlook Parking Lot on Sandy Hollow Road in Ledyard. Dave Holdridget said the “hike takes on added significance because of the recent letter from Ledyard officials to Groton Utilities requesting a dialogue on opening the proposed Tri Town Trail to public access. The trail is proposed to cross over the reservoir property, but so far Groton Utilities has refused to discuss it.”

3. There's a Krammer is a LHS graduate and . The proceeds of this sale will go to her as she and her extended family in NJ renovate a home so that Laurie can maneuver around in her wheel chair.
