Five Things: Snow Tonight?

Degree of Difficulty, Big Box Poll, Rockefeller Center Tree, Skating Party

  1. Sunshine today, high 37F. Winds W at 10 to 20 mph. Partly cloudy skies early tonight. Snow flurries developing after midnight. Low 32F.
  2. After John Rodolico met with seniors on Wednesday and vowed to resolve the Jazzercise controversy once and for all, he was asked by Tony Scarpa what was more difficult – 30 years at Electric Boat or three weeks as mayor of Ledyard? A reasonable question under the circumstances.
  3. Do you shop at the Big Box stores, or do you prefer to shop locally? Take our poll.
  4. A resident who happened to stop by the Ledyard town clerk’s office on Tuesday mentioned that there are four miles of lights on the Christmas tree at Rockefeller Center in New York City. Is that possible? I’ll let you know.
  5. Here’s a great way to start your New Year’s holiday weekend: A skating party on Friday at the new outdoor skating rink on the Parade in New London. It starts and 6 p.m. and it’s free. Skate for a while, watch the ferries come in and go out, then walk up State Street for some great Thai or Indian or Italian cuisine, or maybe just a warm mug of Irish coffee. See you there!
