Power of Social Media, Children's Author Fred Neff, Two Great Pets

- At the Ledyard Town Council meeting Wednesday night, Councilor Linda Davis commended the Parks & Recreation Department and also plugged the power of social media when she reported that the department recently used Facebook to solicit a volunteer to clear snow off the town skating rink. “They had a volunteer in five minutes,” she said.
- Two weeks after the Ledyard Town Council voted to stay with the Ledge Light Health District, East Lyme did the same.
- Children's author Fred Neff will speak at Bill Library tonight, from 7-8:30 p.m. Neff will discuss the background of his “Calvin and Dad” books, which chronicle ordinary adventures of a child with his father.
