Five Things to Know Today

Canine Wellness Clinic, Quilt Show, Nina & Pinta, Best Breakfast

  1. Mainly sunny, with a high of 73F. (That’s two days in a row, folks.) Winds NW at 10 to 20 mph. Clear and cooler tonight, with lows around 50F.
  2. There will be a Canine Wellness Clinic at Ledyard High School from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday, June 5. The event will include a basket raffle, low-cost rabies vaccinations (for cats or dogs), low-cost microchips (cats or dogs), demonstrations and presentations on canine health and discipline.
  3. The dog clinic is just one of the many events that are part of the town’s month-long 175th celebration. Another is Quilts Along the Thames, which will be on display today from noon to 8 p.m. at the Ledyard Congregational Church. (Here is the full list of events.)
  4. Hey, speaking of the Thames, did anyone see replicas of the Nina and Pinta pass up the river? They’re supposed to arrive in Norwich harbor today for a weekend of tours and events.
  5. Today Patch restaurant critic Michael Costanza reviews Kitchen Little, the best little breakfast spot in Mystic, if not the entire world. He neglected to mention their pancake sandwich, my favorite. What’s yours?
