For a photographer, the aftermath of Hurricane Irene was too easy. Everywhere you looked there was yet another prize-winning photograph. But the year was much more than fallen trees and downed power lines. The pageantry of the Ledyard Fair, the anticipation of a state football title game, and the finality of an electorate seeking a change in local leadership all provided enduring images.
