VIDEO: Boy Scouts Flag Dedication In Gales Ferry

Boy scouts and cubs dedicate a flag at Gales Ferry Community Center.

Boys from Boy Scout Troop 12 and Cub Scout Pack 12 dedicated a flag at the Gales Ferry Community Center in honor of Memorial Day. The boys chose their own verse about the flag, or Memorial Day, to read to a crowd gathered. The boys earned an activity pin for the ceremony.

Terry Jean, 9, of Gales Ferry, is a Webelo 1 now but at the ceremony he was promoted a step. Chris Hughes, 14, pinned a patch on him, which obligates him to memorize the boy scout law and do a good deed in order to get the patch sewn on permanently.

Jean said he'll have no trouble memorizing the boy scout law and he said he'd mow a lawn for anyone who needs it done.
