Spring may be in the air, but don't put those shovels, boots and scrapers away yet.

Early this morning the National Weather Service issued a winter storm warning for Ledyard, as well as much of the rest of the shoreline, for a storm system that will move into the area later today.

The late winter storm is expected to drop three to six inches of snow, sleet and freezing rain on the region between tonight and tomorrow morning.

The agency expects a slight accumulation of ice and the wintry mix and winds will at times reduce visibility to less than a quarter of a mile.
