Icy Road Blamed for Head-On Collision in Ledyard

Until the temperatures warm up, driving on untreated roads is hazardous.

Freezing rain and icy roads are to blame for a head-on collision on Lantern Hill Road (up by Route 214) today. No injuries were reported as a result of the accident.

The National Weather Service has placed Ledyard under a freezing rain advisory, which will likely be lifted around 11 a.m. if the temperatures warm up.  But for now, know that the roads are coated with ice and are dangerous to drive on.
