Police Seek Witnesses to Car V. SUV Crash

A car versus bicycle accident occurred at Dunkin Donuts in Gales Ferry.

Ledyard police are seeking witnesses to a bicycle vs. SUV crash that occurred Friday.

A Lisbon man who was riding a bicycle Friday morning was transported to William W. Backus Hospital after he collided with a Chevy Tahoe in Gales Ferry.

Thomas H. Leise, 55, of Tunnel Hill Road in Lisbon was riding the bicycle and was transported to the hospital with serious injuries, according to a press release. Kenneth Carrion, 34, of Route 12 in Groton was driving the 2008 Chevy Tahoe. He was later listed in good condition.

Ledyard police are reporting that the crash occurred at the entrance to Dunkin Donuts around 8:15 a.m.

The Ledyard Police Department, Gales Ferry Fire Department, Ledyard Fire Department, Submarine Base Ambulance, and Lawrence & Memorial Hospital Paramedics responded. 

The cause of this accident is being investigated by Accident Reconstructionists with the Ledyard Police Department. Anyone who may have witnessed the crash is asked to contact Sgt Scott Petersen of the Ledyard Police Department at 860-464-6400.
