Montville Man In Serious Condition Following Ledyard Crash

Another passenger was also transported to the hospital following the Stoddards Warf Road crash.

A press release from the Ledyard Police Department:

On October 31, at approximately 12:56 a.m., the Ledyard Police Department received the report of a one vehicle versus utility pole crash on RT 214 (Stoddards Warf Rd). 

Along with the Ledyard Police Dept, the Ledyard Fire Department, Gales Ferry Fire Department, Ledyard Volunteer Emergency Squad, American Ambulance Paramedic, and Lawrence & Memorial Paramedic responded. Due to extensive damage to the vehicle, both the driver and passenger had to be extricated by firefighters.

The vehicle operator, Kyle Fox, 23, of 431 RT 163 lot 4, Uncasville, was transported to the Lawrence & Memorial Hospital with serious injury and was later transferred to Yale New Haven Hospital. The vehicle passenger, Andrew Hernandez, 24, of 69 Flintlock Rd, Ledyard, was transported to the Backus Hospital in Norwich. 

This accident remains under investigation by the Ledyard Police Department. As a result of this accident, RT 214 was closed between RT 117 and Whalehead Rd for utility pole replacement.
