Ledyard police donate time and ice cream cones for Police Day.

The Ledyard Police Day event Monday attracted a good-sized crowd of people interested in checking out the police cars, watching the K9 unit demonstration and eating free ice cream cones.

Police officers Bobby Kempke and Daniel Gagnon showed the crowd how their K9 partners Ringo and Lambeau make finding lost keys and apprehending suspects look easy.

Kids had the hard task of keeping up with their melting ice cream cones as they climbed around and had their pictures taken in police cars.
