Police: Body Found In The Thames River In Ledyard

An employee on the Worcester & Providence railroad spotted the body at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

A male’s body was found Tuesday afternoon in Ledyard on the edge of the Thames River.

The Day reports that state police have recovered the body from the water but have yet to identify who it is. An employee on the Worcester & Providence railroad spotted the body at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, according to the newspaper.

The Day reports that the body is expected to be brought to Connecticut’s Office of the Chief Medical Examiner to determine the man’s identity and his cause of death. State detectives were also called in to investigate, according to the newspaper.
