The Town of Ledyard is getting serious about unloading their vacant properties. The former Gales Ferry School at 7 Hurlbutt Road and the old Ledyard Center firehouse 737 Colonel Ledyard Highway are up for sale. Economic Development Commission Chairman Jeff Beacham said they don't have a firm asking price just yet but they'll probably settle on a price around the assessed value. However, both parcels have buildings on them, which a buyer may want to remove, so the price will be negotiable, according to Beacham.
The old firehouse property plus buildings are assessed at $278,880. The former Gales Ferry School parcel and buildings are assessed at $797,650.
